MISSOURI RETIRED TEACHERS FOUNDATION AWARDS CLASSROOM GRANT TO EINI HARRIS FROM WARSAW SOUTH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Eini Harris was presented with a $500 classroom grant.
She was presented with a large replica check for $500, a “real” check made out to the recipient and the school, and a letter from MRTA Executive Director Maria Walden and MRTF President Karen Miller.
MRTF (Missouri Retired Teachers Foundation) is the charitable arm of MRTA (Missouri Retired Teachers Association and Public School Personnel), and is a 501(C)(3) tax exempt charitable corporation. Grant applications were to include a title and description, a purpose of the project, a plan of action and a budget, and were to be submitted by June 30. The winners were chosen by a panel of retired teachers. This year Region 6 of the MRTA presented six classroom grants and one PEERS grants.
MRTA, MRTF, and all the retired school personnel across the state of Missouri who have raised this money for grants through their fundraising efforts congratulates Eini Harris from Warsaw South Elementary School and commends her for her grant-writing skills.
The MRTF Grants are open to certified teachers and the PEERS grants are open to all non-certified school staff. Both teachers and PEERS staff are encouraged to complete an application for the $500 award. The next MRTF grant process will begin in the spring of 2025.
