Student of the Month, Carter Johnson

Carter Johnson is a fifth grade student enrolled at South Elementary. He was the majority winner in a survey sent to South teachers asking for nominations for our student spotlight for the board of education.

Carter’s journey in reading has been nothing short of remarkable. Last year, Carter climbed from qualifying for Title 1 reading to being the top reader in the school as well as earning Advanced on his ELA MAP Test. Competing in Mrs. Harris' Millionaire Readers Challenge and the office reading challenge, Carter read over 3.1 million words—a testament to his fantastic work ethic and passion for knowledge. These are significant achievements he owes to both his own hard work and the support of his amazing teachers.

This year, Carter has already set impressive goals and is well on his way to achieving them. Before October, Carter had already surpassed 1 million words through the Accelerated Reader program, which is quicker than any other student our staff was aware of. Carter is now targeting an incredible four million-word goal by the end of the year. Every day, Carter arrives in class with a smile and a positive attitude, demonstrating kindness to his peers and a relentless commitment to his academic goals.

Carter, your journey is an inspiration to us all. Your work ethic, respectful nature, and unwavering determination embody what it means to be a great Warsaw Wildcat. We are so proud of you, and we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish this year and in the years to come.

Way to go, Carter! Keep showing your Wildcat Pride in everything you do! We’re so proud of you.
