The Warsaw R-IX Board of Education met July 29, 2026, for its regular monthly meeting.
Budget & Financial Updates
Superintendent Scott Gemes reviewed the June budget report and year-to-date financials. He also presented the district's final 2025–2026 budget (Annual Secretary of the Board Report), providing a summary of the district's year-end financial position.

Other New Business & Board Approvals
The Board approved the district's 2026–2031 Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP), which outlines the goals and priorities that will guide Warsaw R-IX over the next five years.
Superintendent Gemes also provided a PROP KIDS construction update as the district prepares for the start of the 2026–2027 school year.
The new fifth-grade wing remains on schedule for completion before the first day of school.
The JBMS front office addition will not be complete by the start of the school year; however, the interior office spaces are expected to be ready for staff.
The elementary playground projects are expected to be nearly complete by the start of the school year. The play areas should be fully functional, although some fencing work may still remain.
The high school courtyard and the JBMS Library/Life Skills remodel are also expected to be completed on time.
Construction on the new high school science, art, and restroom addition will continue beyond the start of the school year.
As construction progresses, the district will continue communicating with families regarding any temporary adjustments to student drop-off and pick-up procedures at JBMS, as well as any classroom location changes needed while remaining construction projects are completed. Families are encouraged to watch for updates as the start of the school year approaches.

During closed session, the Board accepted two resignations and approved six new hires for the 2026–2027 school year.
Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Warsaw R-IX Board of Education will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026, beginning with the Tax Rate Hearing at 6:00 p.m., followed immediately by the regular Board of Education meeting in the Warsaw High School Library.
