While PROP KIDS projects remain well underway, we’ve also been able to complete many other facility and maintenance improvements using our regular Fund 4 budget. Fund 4 is money the local school district uses for purchases over $5,000 and for building upgrades. This revenue typically comes from end-of-year budget transfers, along with some local and federal sources. Thanks to the bond funds from PROP KIDS covering major needs, we’ve been able to direct Fund 4 toward smaller—but still important—projects that make a big difference in our schools.
Main Restrooms (8th grade) at John Boise Middle School
Over the past few summers, our maintenance and custodial crew have been giving this restroom a much-needed makeover. They’ve installed new flooring and added new countertops and cabinets this summer. These updates have really given the restrooms a bright, new look.
North School Landscape
This summer we were able to give our entry way at North School a facelift, with additional updates possible throughout the year.
South School Roof
We replaced part of the South School Roof last summer. This summer we finished replacing the rest of the South School Roof.
New Driveway to Athletic Building
To improve traffic flow during practices, we’ve added a driveway for the Athletic Building. The plan is for it to operate as a one-way road—entering from the kitchen area and exiting out the new drive that runs by the greenhouse.
Home-Side Football Bleacher Updates
Our home-side football bleachers received repairs this summer. Additional handrails are being installed, and we’ve completed concrete work to improve accessibility to the bleacher ramp.
Continue Bus Rotation
We are currently working on a rotation plan to purchase two buses every year, keeping our fleet modern and reliable. Thankfully, revenue has helped make purchasing newer gasoline buses possible.
Looking Ahead
These projects show how, by combining PROP KIDS funding for large-scale needs with our regular Fund 4 resources for smaller projects, we can make consistent, meaningful improvements across the district. Every upgrade—big or small—helps create a safer, more welcoming, and more functional environment for our students, staff, and community. We’re proud of the progress made and look forward to many more improvements in the months and years to come.
